NINA ROSA is a Prague-based trio founded by singer and violinist Nina Marinová. Nina met her bandmates, accordionist Michal Mihok and guitarist Antonín Dlapa, during her studies at the Jazz Conservatory in Prague, and a decade later, they formed a band blending jazz, swing, reggae, and folk — adding their own sensibility and a touch of twist and shout. The band’s name is a tribute to Nina’s biggest fan — her grandmother. Her lifelong support inspired Nina to channel her "virtuosity" (as grandma would say) into creating a project that reflects her unique take on music.
Since their debut in 2016, NINA ROSA has performed at prestigious festivals such as Pohoda (SK), United Islands (CZ), Akkordeon Festival (AT), Prázdniny v Telči, Boskovice, and many more, racking up over 150 concerts across the V4 region.
Their fresh sound quickly caught the attention of critics, earning a nomination for "Best New Artist" at the Slovak Radio_Head Awards in 2017. Since then, their music has found a steady place on Czech and Slovak radio and TV, with regular airplay and live broadcasts.
In late 2019, they released their debut album Discover, exploring a colorful spectrum of sounds, languages, and emotions. The album earned three nominations at the Radio_Head Awards ("Album of the Year," "Single of the Year," and "Debut of the Year") and won Album of the Year and Best Acoustic Band at the Tais Awards 2021. The band is now gearing up to release their second album, Joy, set to come out in May 2025 — promising to dive even deeper into their distinctive sound.
